Local chain-level structure and molecular dynamics of semicrystalline polymers are important for understanding polymer crystallization as well as macroscopic mechanical properties. Our group has focused on chain-level structure, molecular dynamics, and complex chemical reactions in the solid polymers by using various solid state NMR techniques. In this talk, I will present our recent results on i) chain trajectory of semicrystalline polymer in a glassy state by 13C-13C Double Quantum NMR, ii) molecular dynamics, co-crystallization, and sustainability for novel polyolefins by CODEX, CSA, and spin diffusion, and iii) chemical reactions of carbon fiber precursors by multi-dimensional and DNP NMR.
