Getting to Cambridge
Airport
Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) — the nearest major airport, approximately 15–30 minutes from Kendall Square depending on traffic.
Transportation from Logan Airport
Public transit (most economical):
- Take the Silver Line SL1 from the airport terminal to South Station
- Transfer to the MBTA Red Line toward Alewife
- Exit at Kendall/MIT station
Taxi / Rideshare: Taxi and rideshare services (Uber, Lyft) are widely available from Logan Airport. Look for clearly marked pickup areas at each terminal. Travel time is approximately 15–30 minutes, though this may vary significantly during peak hours.
Water taxi: Seasonal water taxi service is available from Logan Airport to various points along the Charles River and Boston waterfront.
Rental car: For attendees staying in Kendall Square or central Cambridge, a rental car is usually not necessary. The area is highly walkable, and parking can be limited and expensive.
