Monica always knew she wanted to study Chemistry, but her career journey was definitely not a straight path. While focusing on her Chemistry majors, Monica was concurrently obtaining her Bachelor of Education to become a high school Chemistry teacher. After taking an Analytical Chemistry course that focused on NMR, she changed her career direction and decided to pursue a PhD in NMR. During her PhD, Monica worked with the Graduate Management Consulting Association (GMCA), to host yearly Business Fundamentals courses and gain
consulting skills. After completing her PhD, instead of applying for Management Consulting positions, she decided to go back to her teaching passions and teach Organic Chemistry at the University of Toronto as a Course Instructor. After a semester of teaching, Monica decided to make another career change to stay in NMR but this time as a sales representative for Bruker BioSpin. While a more recent change, Monica is thrilled with her decision and hopes she finally found a career that encompasses all her passions and skills.
