MANIC 2026

Materials and NMR Insights Conference (MANIC) 2026

A materials NMR symposium dovetailing with PANIC 2026

In cooperation with the organizers of the ACS NMR of Polymers and Soft Materials symposia, the PANIC team is pleased to introduce a new, adjoining meeting: the Materials and NMR Insights Conference (MANIC). MANIC will take place May 7–9, 2026 in Rockville, Maryland, USA at the Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research (IBBR), immediately following PANIC 2026.

About MANIC

The Materials and NMR Insights Conference (MANIC) provides an international forum focused on advanced NMR techniques for characterizing modern materials. Building on decades of ACS NMR of Polymers and Soft Materials symposia, MANIC brings together experts in:

  • Polymers and soft materials

  • Materials for electrochemical energy storage

  • Nanomaterials

  • Quantum materials

  • Porous materials

  • Catalysts

The symposium will cover solution and solid-state NMR, hyperpolarization, and MRI, with a mix of speakers from academia, industry, and national laboratories.

Program Overview & Format

MANIC 2026 will feature:

  • Three days of programming
Afternoon sessions on Thursday, May 7, a full day of talks on Friday, May 8, and morning sessions on Saturday, May 9, plus a dedicated poster session and shared meals.

  • Invited speakers across career stages
The program will include established leaders in materials NMR as well as outstanding early-career researchers.

  • Student and postdoctoral participation
Students and postdocs are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts for both talks and posters.

  • Integrated experience with PANIC 2026
MANIC is designed to dovetail with PANIC, giving attendees the option to register for one or both conferences.

MANIC 2026 Organizers

MANIC 2026 is organized by a collaborative team with deep expertise in materials NMR and long-standing involvement in the PANIC community.
