PANIC has always supported the student community by providing student travel grants to the annual conference. During this meeting, students can meet leaders in the NMR community, network with current industry professionals, connect with other early career students, and learn about the newest NMR technologies being developed.
About the Student Travel Grant:
- A student travel grant will provide one free registration for the PANIC 2026 meeting (if registration has already been paid, this will be refunded in full).
- Students must present either a poster or a submitted talk (selected for presentation) to be considered for a travel grant. Submit your abstract through our abstract submission page here.
- Awardees must attend the specified events and be present for the presentation of awards at the end of the PANIC 2026 conference or they will forfeit their travel grant. Travel grants will be presented directly to awardee during the presentation of awards. It will not be made to any other person or institution

Hear about PANIC from other students and early career attendees:
“I attended PANIC for the first time as a 5th-year graduate student studying physical chemistry at UC Davis. Knowing that my time as a graduate student was coming to an end, but not really sure what I’d do after graduation, I was excited for the opportunity to attend PANIC. The variety of the topics in NMR people spoke on at PANIC was surprising to me. Not only did PANIC introduce me to the many industrial applications of NMR, but there I was able to network with established people in these fields. By presenting my research and talking with individuals I met
at the conference, I learned of postdoc and industry opportunities in NMR that I’d be a good fit for. I’m thankful for this experience, and it was essential in helping find and decide on the right job.”

“I first had the opportunity to attend PANIC as a postdoc, and I was struck by its focus on the practical impacts of NMR. In academia, the early stages of research can feel disconnected from their intended application, but this conference provided valuable perspective. It was brilliant for understanding how the latest developments could solve real-world problems—and how they often already do! This helped me see that I wanted to be part of the process of matching the right solutions to challenging problems, which led me to my current role as an NMR Applications Specialist.”
“I attended PANIC in Hilton Head Island with a travel grant in 2019. As a postdoctoral researcher nearing the end of my studies, I was interested in learning about how I could transition to industry, but still work within the field of NMR. Having only attended biomolecular NMR conferences previously, I was stunned by the variety of industries that use NMR, and really helped me to think outside of the box. I was at first nervous about attending a conference where I wouldn’t know anyone, but it was the perfect venue for a first time attendee as everyone was really welcoming. I enjoyed the conference so much that I went back in 2021 (Nashville) once I began my first position in biotech.”

“Attending PANIC was truly an unforgettable and enriching experience. It provided me with an incredible opportunity to expand my knowledge, especially regarding the use of Resonance techniques, which were explained and demonstrated in ways that deepened my understanding far beyond what I had previously learned. The event brought together experts and participants from many different places, creating an inspiring environment where knowledge and ideas flowed naturally.
From the very first moment, the entire team welcomed me with such warmth and kindness that I instantly felt part of the community. This supportive and collaborative atmosphere made the experience even more special. It was an honor to present the work we developed in Brazil on such a significant international stage. Sharing our research with such a diverse audience and receiving valuable feedback was both rewarding and motivating for future projects.
In addition to presenting, I had the chance to attend incredible lectures delivered by highly respected professionals in the field. Each presentation offered new perspectives and insights, often sparking ideas for how I could apply these concepts to my own studies and research. It was also inspiring to see such a wide variety of projects being showcased, each one highlighting different approaches and innovations.
Being part of PANIC was more than just attending a congress — it was a moment of personal and professional growth. It strengthened my passion for science, expanded my professional network, and reminded me of the importance of sharing knowledge across borders. I am truly grateful for the experience and for everyone who made it so memorable.”
“Attending PANIC 2025 was a truly valuable and inspiring experience that deepened my understanding of NMR spectroscopy and motivated me to integrate quantitative NMR (qNMR) into both my PhD research and future professional work. With a background in analytical chemistry (HPLC, ICP, LC–MS), I found the sessions on method validation, calibration strategies, and reproducibility especially relevant.
The conference introduced advanced techniques and practical insights such as uncertainty estimation, reference standards, and the application of qNMR in pharmaceutical quality control that I can implement directly. Additionally, PANIC 2025 opened my eyes to many industrial applications of NMR beyond the pharmaceutical field, which I had not been familiar with before.
Beyond the technical content, PANIC offered excellent networking opportunities and constructive feedback on my research. The organizers were welcoming and supportive, fostering an inclusive environment for international students. I am sincerely grateful for the experience and look forward to participating in future PANIC meetings.”
