Benchtop NMR spectrometers are now established as a practical analytical technique in industry. The compact high-resolution NMR spectrometer’s technology has been steadily improving over the years as more powerful, homogeneous and stable permanent magnets and electronics are developed. Improved performance and new capabilities enable a wider range of applications that these instruments can address. This presentation will focus on practical NMR applications implemented using the newly developed solvent suppression, T2-filtered pulse sequences, and diffusometry techniques. We will present how benchtop NMR has been implemented in many applications that range from process monitoring to molecular weight analysis of polymers [1,2].
